Synopsis: 1999 Shanghai

This storyline puts a new spin on the classic tale of forbidden love between Romeo and Juliet. Set in Shanghai on July 7th, 1999, two rival gangs are fighting for power, leaving those in the ceasefire zone to live in relative tranquility. By chance, Xiaoxue, a member of the Toulon gang, and Dawu, from the Xianglongji gang, meet without realizing they are on opposite sides. In the intensity of the moment, Dawu brings Xiaoxue to a secret location, hoping to win her over, but she rejects him. After a simple kiss, Dawu parts ways with Xiaoxue not realizing their paths will cross again in vastly different circumstances.
