Synopsis: 20th Century Boys

As the 20th century nears its end, a shared concern among people worldwide is that the world is evolving in an unfavorable way. Kenji Endo, a mild-mannered manager of a convenience store, faces financial difficulties while grappling with the sudden suicide of his old friend "Donkey" and the growing notoriety of a new cult led by a mysterious figure called "Friend." Kenji becomes increasingly uneasy until he discovers a few clues left behind by the deceased Donkey that reveal the cult's true danger. Not only does the cult have a direct interest in Kenji and his childhood friends, but its ultimate goal threatens the entire world, and only Kenji and his friends can prevent it. As Kenji becomes involved in a perilous and intricate web of intrigue, he reunites with his childhood companions to uncover the truth connecting their past to the cult's malevolent plan.
