Synopsis: Clannad

Tomoya Okazaki is a troublemaker who finds life monotonous with no potential for success. He joins his friend Sunohara to skip school and waste their time during high school. On his way to school, Tomoya encounters a young girl, Furukawa Nagisa, whispering to herself. She suddenly utters "Anpan!" (a well-known Japanese dish) which intrigues Tomoya. He discovers that Nagisa says things she likes to motivate herself and they become friends. But Tomoya dismisses the interaction as nothing and walks away. However, Tomoya finds himself increasingly drawn to Nagisa at school. Eventually, he befriends her and learns about her dream to resurrect the school's drama club which she can't pursue because of a severe illness that caused her to repeat a year. With nothing to do, Tomoya decides to help Nagisa and four other girls accomplish their goal. As Tomoya gets to know the girls better, he becomes more aware of their issues. While he strives to assist each of them overcome their respective impediments, he realizes that life isn't as uninteresting as he once believed.
