The group has experienced significant turnover, with seven Kyoukans rotating through the role in as many years due to constant targeting by terrorist groups. Ishikawa's appointment in 2022 brought stability to the team. Ishikawa's intellectual prowess and calm demeanor make him an asset to the team. However, he owes his tenure to Iwase Motohisa, his unwavering bodyguard and Assistant Instructor who is fiercely devoted to Ishikawa, never losing sight of him.
