Synopsis: Kurobone

The setting is in post-World War I "Garuma" (Germany), but all people are anthropomorphic animals. In the aftermath of World War I, Garuma is devastated. Unemployment is widespread, and political unrest is causing many angry political parties to arise, in addition to the ever-looming threat of a Bolshevik-style revolution. In these chaotic current times, the displaced student Bau Mueller, who doesn't care for politics, is just trying to get by. Quite by chance, he finds himself pulled into a nationalist political activist group. This group contains people from all walks of life; A widowed duchess who provides financial backing, an exiled professor, a locksmith, a drunken poet, and more. From them, Bau learns about the political forces threatening his homeland, and that even someone young like him can make a difference.
