Previously cousins, Keiichi and Kaname became brothers after Kaname's parents died in a car accident and he was adopted into Keiichi's family. Although they had always had a good relationship, Keiichi began to suspect that Kaname had negative feelings towards him due to the sudden change in his behavior. Kaname had become increasingly aloof and distant.
