Synopsis: Mahoutsukai no Neko

Rio is a regular 14-year-old boy with one exceptional quality: his immense love for books. Despite his passion, he is reserved and considered strange by his peers due to his awkward nature. Rio has a twin brother, Mao, who looks identical to him but has a completely different personality. Mao is a successful individual, excelling in all areas of life, having a large circle of friends and dreaming of having a happy and prosperous family. Despite their differences, the siblings have a close relationship. However, fate takes a turn for the worse when Rio tries to rescue a cat that has wandered onto the road and ends up getting hit by a car in front of his brother. In that moment, Rio fades away into the darkness. Suddenly, a voice asks Rio to make a life or death decision about whether he wants to live or go to the afterlife. Despite being on the verge of death, Rio instinctively chooses to live. Little did he know that this decision would change his life forever. Rio wakes up in a strange world filled with creatures he has never seen before. To his shock, he discovers that he has taken the form of a pitch-black cat. In this world, cats play the role of wizards' companions, and are worshipped for their invaluable assistance. Rio is bewildered by his sudden transformation and is intrigued by his new reality.
