
Synopsis: Ninja Chronicles: The Legend of Kagemaru
The ninja-saga, which is a tale of considerable length, is characterized by numerous interrelated themes and a multitude of characters. This series not only constitutes a traditional samurai chronicle but also represents Shirato's endeavor to unveil the significance of the rebellious peasants in feudal Japan. In 1966, Nagisa Ooshima transformed it into a full feature film. Kagemura, a literary figure, is depicted as a samurai who supports the struggling peasants in their pursuit for survival. His rival happens to be the prominent 16th century historical warlord, Nobunaga Oda.
