Synopsis: Outen no Mon

During the Heian period in Japan, the Fujiwara family is devising a plan to take over the court. However, their scheme is interrupted when two servants mysteriously disappear from the capital city. The emperor becomes fearful that a demon is behind the disappearances and enlists the help of Ariwara no Narihira and a young man named Sugawara no Michizane. Despite their 20-year age gap and contrasting backgrounds, Sugawara no Michizane, a reclusive scholar, and Ariwara no Narihira, a carefree aristocrat from Kyoto, join forces to unravel the enigmas plaguing Kyoto.
