Synopsis: Persona 4
Persona 4 is set in the same universe as Persona 3, in a rural location called Inaba. Mysterious murders have been taking place whenever fog appears after heavy rainfall. Additionally, there are rumors of a television channel that airs only at midnight, known as Mayonaka TV, where it is said one can see their "other half" when gazing at the TV screen. After learning about a recent unsolved murder that occurred in the fog, the characters—the main character, Chie, and Yōsuke—talk about their attempts to watch the enigmatic TV channel and how they saw the murder victim. The protagonist soon discovers that during midnight when the channel is active, his body can phase into his television, serving as a gateway to another realm filled with shadows. Upon this revelation, they all choose to investigate further. When they first enter this world, feeling disoriented, the main character encounters Teddie. There appears to be a link between Mayonaka TV and the town's murders, suggesting that the murder victims may simply be casualties of Mayonaka TV. They all resolve to work together to uncover the truth behind the mysterious murders by delving into the concealed world of Mayonaka TV. Following the concluding events of Persona 3 on January 31, 2010, Persona 4 begins on April 11, 2011, indicating that it starts fourteen months after the conclusion of Persona 3, which is also reflected in the appearance of an older Chihiro, who is now a 3rd year student.
