Synopsis: Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc
In the 16th year of the Meiji era, Kenshin Himura successfully quelled the uprising led by Makoto Shishio, but the impact of the revolution remains evident in Japan. Despite years having passed, scattered remnants of Shishio's group still persist, some seeking peace while others continue to fight. When a faction attempts to revive the revolution, an orphan boy named Ashitarou Hasegawa acquires Shishio's old sword. This event affects not only Ashitarou, but also 16-year-old half-Japanese, half-American Aran Inoue and mercenary girl Asahi Kubota, both of whom now have a hefty price on their heads and nowhere else to go. Fortunately, they find solace in the Kamiya dojo, a place that has always welcomed wanderers without probing into their pasts. Despite their desire for a fresh start, two members of Asahi's former clan demand her return, leading to a volatile situation. Amid the chaos, the clan members drop a package containing a picture of dojo owner Kaoru Kamiya's presumed-dead father, along with his location: Hakodate, Hokkaido. With only this information, the Kamiya dojo residents set out on a quest across the sea to uncover the truth about Kaoru's father and why he is being targeted.
