Synopsis: Saki: Achiga-hen - episode of side-A

Achiga Girls' Academy in Nara achieved a momentous victory against powerful mahjong competitor Bansei High School. Though the school qualified for the national team semi-finals, they were defeated by the ultimate champion and consequently the mahjong club disbanded. Six years later, elementary student Shizuno Takakamo met transfer student Nodoka Haramura and the two began at Achiga Girls' together. However, Nodoka left the school during their second year. When Shizuno witnessed Nodoka become the middle school individual mahjong champion on television the next year, she resolved to revive the Achiga mahjong club.
