The protagonist, Joe Shimamura, was confined in a juvenile detention center. He and his fellow inmates attempted to escape, but during their attempt, they were captured by a suspicious group dressed in black suits (the Black Ghost Organization). After losing consciousness, Joe awoke to find himself restrained on an operating table. Standing beside him was a man wearing a creepy mask, who introduced himself as Skull. Skull ominously declared, "The next time you wake up, you'll be a cyborg." What was happening to Joe?
