Synopsis: Sonezaki Shinjuu

At the heart of this story lies Toku's unwavering love for Ohatsu, his childhood acquaintance who was forcibly sent to a brothel many years ago (as the title of the play suggests). Toku dreams of freeing her from her enslavement and making her his wife, but numerous impediments impede his pursuit.
