Synopsis: Teiichi no Kuni
Starting his studies at a prestigious private boy's high school known for producing top naval officers, Akaba Teiichi hopes to establish his position as the student council president in order to gain entry into the political sphere after graduating. He has always maintained a squeaky-clean image while never disregarding the murkier aspects of politics. Networking is crucial from day one at the school, which boasts a track record of grooming noteworthy politicians and bureaucrats. Teiichi has his sights set on this crucial leadership role and enjoys the support of several well-wishers: his father, now a high-ranking bureaucrat, who hopes to spare Akaba the disappointment he experienced when he failed to secure the council presidency himself; his confidant, Koumei, who assists him with his strategic planning; his girlfriend, Mimiko; and his mother and younger sister, who offer him emotional succor. However, an unexpected adversary enters the picture in the form of an idealistic new teacher, Kurosaka Reiko, determined to use her position to upend the school's corrupt political conventions. One of her first moves is to elevate a deserving but disadvantaged student named Otaka Dan, a talented yet impoverished outsider who wasn't educated in the elite feeder middle school system. In light of Kurosaka's efforts to destabilize the status quo, will Teiichi be able to use the existing political system to his advantage and achieve his goals?
