Synopsis: the nightmare of fabrication

Yoshitoshi ABe has expertly illustrated The Nightmare of Fabrication, a stunningly colorful manga, which can be discovered within the pages of the "an omnipresence in wired 'lain'" artbook. Although it's a supplementary story, it doesn't seem to be intertwined with either the anime or the PS game. As such, it features individuals who were present in the PS game but not the TV series (such as the psychiatrist), as well as significant characters from the anime who didn't make an appearance in the video game (such as Deus). The 18-page short story is a must-read.
